Christmas
As we approach the end of the year, we begin reflecting on some special moment we’ve had throughout the year. We also begin the hunker down in the UK as the nights draw in and we start lighting fires to ensure we keep cosy. And of course, how can we forget that there is some excitement to finish off the year, with Christmas. Christmas often comes upon us rapidly. One moment you are walking around in shorts and flip flops on a beach in the month of August, and the next you are trapsing through a muddy field looking for the perfect spruce to bring home and decorate for Christmas. It is at this time of year we often regret not planning something unique and exciting to celebrate these festivities, but we’re here to give you some ideas for next year’s Christmas, to escape on that once-in-a-lifetime trip to where Father Christmas operates within the heart of Lapland.
There are lots of wonderful places to experience Christmas time throughout the Arctic Circle. For one, it is almost guaranteed to have some snow, which is extremely fitting for a Christmas scene. Luckily this Christmas experience within the Arctic Circle is not just for children. Adults can enjoy the festive season just as much! Places to travel to within the Arctic Circle include the Swedish Lapland, Iceland, Norway, and the Finnish Lapland. Imagine sleigh rides with reindeer, husky mushing as well as sledding and skiing are just a sample of the activities you can enjoy when staying in any of these fabulous countries. Head to Fjellborg Arctic lodge to experience Sweden’s premium wilderness experiences. This exclusive lodge offers all-inclusive, privately guided activities allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the surrounding wilderness all by themselves. The lodge is perfect to explore the surrounding wilderness and stunning beauty with the joy of including husky safaris, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, fishing, and you can even turn your hand to a spot of ice sculpting too!
Head to Finland where we would recommend the stunning Javri Lodge. This lodge offers all the luxury and comfort synonymous with its founder, Uhro Kekkonen. The lodge has seen many celebrities and royals walk through its doors remaining one of Finland’s top luxury lodges. Javri itself is beautifully reimagined and epitomises a chic log cabin, with modern and clean lines, warm, comfortable, and sumptuous. If you want exclusive isolation there is no better place than Javri Lodge.
Our final suggestion is for Norway’s Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. Here it is all about nature and family values. The uniqueness of this hotel is exciting and of course sculpted beautifully. Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel is the Northern most ice hotel in the world and on top of this it also offers wonderful gourmet food. All in all, this hotel, and the experience that it offers is one of the most unique in the world and one you will never forget.
